Seminar on the adversarial system in the criminal process

As part of its INL grant, Regional Dialogue cooperated with the Uzbek Supreme Court, the General Prosecutors’ Office and the Chamber of Lawyers in conducting a training seminar in Charvak on October 20, 21 and 22, attended by judges, prosecutors and defense attorneys. Under the title “Adversarial system in the criminal process: the experience of Uzbekistan and international practice” four expert trainers conducted inter-active mock trial exercise using a module case of white collar crime (corruption). Four international subject matter experts were engaged – trial judge Christine McEvoy, prosecutor Kevin Curtin, Susan Simone Kang for defense (all from Boston, Massachusetts, USA) and Canadian investigator Blair Hussey (from UN New York).
